Skinny Dipping!...

Its that time of year I dread the most!! Trying to get rid of what I call my 'Christmas Layer!' As I love my food so much I find it really hard to eat good all the time and always seem to end up hungry :(! This post is going to focus on some of my own diet tips that I have tried over the years and also some ideas on how to make yourself look slimmer (also known as cheating!)

Food Tips!

The main problem I always find when dieting is the fact that i love to have big portions of what I'm eating! I hate being hungry so I always stack my plate lots and lots of yummy veggies to make a larger portion. I also snack on foods such as fruit, olives and prawns or have something under a 100 kcals. Ideal snacks under a 100 kcals and low in fat include: Quavers, 2 Jaffa cakes, 1 slice toast with low fat jam, half a tin of most soups, low fat yoghurt and many more! Just check the nutritional value on the pack and if you find any tasty ideas let me know!

The main time I seem to get most hungry is the evening, which is also the worst time to eat! I try not to eat dinner after 6 unless I'm going out for a meal or something. A really good recipe I found is a sin free quiche! There is hardly any calories or any fat in this dish so i always make a biiiig portion and generally eat it all!
You will need: 3/4 eggs (depending on size of quiche)
Lots of veggies! I always use courgettes, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes.
If you fancy adding some meat you can use a little bit of bacon, ham or corned beef.
Very low fat cottage cheese 500g
1, Fry off your veggies and meat (if required) with low fat 1 kcal spray and put them in oven proof dish.
2. Evenly spread the cottage cheese over the top.
3, After whisking the eggs pour them over the top of the dish.
4, Cook in oven around 200c for about 25 mins! (But keep an eye on it throughout!)
5, After cooking put the tomatoes on the top.
It is literally that simple, and if I can cook it anybody can! You can have it as a light lunch or have it for tea with new potatoes and salad. I always have mine with tomato sauce!
If any of you try this recipe let me know how it goes!

Another way i always try to cut back on the kcals is by using quorn instead of red meat. To be honest i hate quorn chicken so don't use that, but when it comes meals such as spag bol and sausage and mash its really delicious. People have a bit of a stigma surrounding quorn but I promise you if you eat it with a sauce you can hardly taste the difference. I gave it to my boyfriend Ollie who couldn't tell the difference (until I told him, and then he kicked up a fuss!) White meat is naturally lower in fat anyway so where possible I always try to choose that, for example i always have turkey when eating at the carvery. Also if you do eat a carvery choose the new potatoes instead of the roasties as they are dripping in fat!

Looking Good!

No matter how much we diet, we always want to look that little bit skinnier, especially when in a bikini! This may sound a bit strange but I always put a layer of tan on before going on holiday as it just gives me that extra bit of confidence when hitting the beach! There are some excellent ways to tan to make your body actually look skinnier, all of which I've tried and tested. The first thing i always do is put an extra layer on my legs! This not only makes your legs look longer but also makes your upper half look thinner! Secondly I put two lines of extra tan on either side of belly to give the appearance of abs! This creates an illusion and makes your tummy look more toned! I am going to do a post on different types of tans next week so if there is any your particularly interested in trying let me know!

Another way to give the illusion of being thinner is PULL IN KNICKERS!! These are honestly my life saver, and I know a lot of my friends think so too! Not only do they pull everything in but they also make me feel more confident and give me less wobble! Their also way more comfortable than a thong! However best not to wear these on a night where there may be a little romance...

Not very attractive but so worth it!

Last point of the evening is how to look thinner in photos! I know how it feels when photos develop from a big night out and we see that one where we look awful! As the camera adds 10 pound its essential that we try and give ourselves a bit of a chance and trick the camera! Firstly always put your arm away from your body to help your arms look thinner! Secondly pulling your face slightly forward away from you face gets rid of any double chin or the appearance of a 'fat face!' Finally standing to the side with one foot in front of the other gives the illusion of a long, skinny body! Obviously if anyone has seen the photos of me from whenever I go out drinking, I rarely stick to these 'rules' and often appear in the most awful positions!
Here's an example of my girl crush, Kim Kardashian working the camera!

I hope my post this evening has given you all some tips, and I know how hard it is to diet as I constantly want a McDonalds, Chinese, Pizza, Full fat cheese in various varieties....
Anyway any ideas or tips for me???
Goodnight everyone!

Much Love,

Lorna xoxox
